SUNDAY WORSHIP

Every Sunday at 10:00 am, we gather outside to worship the God of heaven and earth, made known to us by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

"Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.”

Isaiah 12:5 (NIV)

Please note: Due to COVID-19, we are currently worshipping outdoors. Please read the following information if you wish to attend. Recordings of the service will be posted on the blog by the afternoon.

For everyone's safety, worship will be held outdoors at 11am. We ask that everyone wear a mask and bring a chair or a blanket to sit on. If we have bad weather, we will revert to online worship.

For the safety of all, we will be avoiding congregational singing and any objects that are passed from one person to another. This includes hymnals, bulletins, and offering plates. There will be a designated place for you to drop your offering. If you have a mask, please wear it at all times over both your mouth and nose once you arrive at church. If you do not have a mask you will be provided with one.

To enable contact tracing, there will be a sign-up sheet to keep track of attendance. If you don't feel good, please stay at home!

In-person Worship and Wonder will commence in August. If you are a parent or grandparent of younger children, please get in contact with Margaret Hurst to discuss your comfort levels and ideas. Meanwhile, caregivers are welcome to bring coloring pages or other small activities should they be helpful. The sound of children is a delight!

Please feel free to read on to get an idea of what worship at New Dublin is usually like:

Our worship service on Sunday morning is the heart of what we do at New Dublin. We worship using a largely traditional style, with hymns, a pianist and organist, and a choir. You can expect sermons to last between 15-20 minutes, and, on the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate communion. A sample bulletin is linked below, if you want to familiarize yourself more with how we worship before you come join us, as well as answers to some frequently asked questions.

Worship Service: Sunday at 11am outdoors

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?

Attire ranges from casual to typical "Sunday morning best." Please come dressed in whatever style best enables you to worship.

Where can I park?

There is plenty of parking in the lot beside the church.

What will my kids do?

Your children are welcome to remain with you throughout the service, if you like. We also offer a nursery for very young children, as well as a Montessori-style "Worship and Wonder" service for school-aged children 6th grade and younger.

May I take communion at New Dublin?

We invite all who trust in Jesus to join us at his table.

How will I know what to do in the service?

When you come in the door there will be greeters there to meet and welcome you with a bulletin. The bulletin will guide you through the service. An asterisk beside a portion means that you are invited to stand, if you are able, and bolded text indicates that the congregation will read aloud in unison. Feel free to look at the sample bulletin attached to this page to see what a typical service is like!

How do I find the church?

The Church address is 5331 New Dublin Church Rd, Dublin, VA 24084. This road can also show up as State Rd 797. We have provided a interactive map on the Contact page of this website to help you pinpoint where we are. When you come off the highway, you will go past a dozen or so homes and down a hill. Follow the road that leads along the edge of the field. When it forks keep to the right. You'll find us at the end of the road!

Where is the church entrance?

If you are attending the 10am Sunday School, please enter through the office door - it is the door facing back down the road you came up and has a disability ramp leading up to it. For the 11am service, both doors will be unlocked with the main door manned by greeters waiting to help you. The main door to the sanctuary is on the east-facing side of the building facing the playground.

Do I need to bring my own Bible?

We have bibles available in the pews, but you are more than welcome to bring your own, or simply to listen as the scripture is read aloud.

Is the church handicap accessible?

Yes. There are designated handicap parking spaces and we have a ramp on the west side of the church for easy access into the building, as well as an elevator for accessing the lower levels of the church.

I have more questions

Feel free to get our contact information from the contact page, we'd be happy to answer anything else you need to know!
