SUNDAY WORSHIP

We gather each Sunday to worship the God of heaven and earth, made known to us by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

"Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.”

Outdoor Worship

The Session of New Dublin Presbyterian Church is thrilled to announce a return to outdoor worship beginning Palm Sunday, March 28. Worship will begin at 11. We ask that you attend masked and, if possible, that you bring your own chairs or blankets, though there will be extra for you if you don't have good options at home.

Worship will look much like it did last summer and fall, with a few differences that reflect our progress in understanding the virus and compliance with state guidelines. Our service will be held between the sanctuary building and the playground, as it was last year. As you arrive, you will be greeted by an usher, handed a bulletin, and asked to sign in. Signing in serves a dual purpose - it allows us to contact you if there's potential exposure to Covid-19, and it helps us plan future worship services, including how many bulletins to print, how much bread and juice to prepare for communion, etc. Donation boxes, made by our very own John Woodward, will be available for regular Sunday offerings as well as any special offerings, like 2 Cents A Meal or One Great Hour of Sharing. If we're having communion, individually wrapped elements will be available for you to pick up on our outdoor communion table. Once you have your supplies, we'll ask that you find a place to sit at least six feet away from anyone who is not a member of your family.

Children's Worship and Wonder will continue to be held indoors with extra spacing and ventilation precautions. Children will be dismissed to go indoors with Diane Blair and Margaret Hurst at the beginning of the service. Of course, children are also always welcome to remain with their parents throughout the worship service.

If there should be a cancellation due to inclement weather, this will be announced by 9am Sunday at the absolute latest via email, prayer chain, Facebook, and the robocall system. If you are not on the robocall system and would like to be, please contact us with your name and preferred phone number.

Finally, if you are not comfortable or not able to attend worship with us in person, you may continue to join us online. Beginning Palm Sunday, March 28th, we will be live-streaming services via our YouTube channel. This means you will be able to join us in worship in real-time. The service will also continue to be available after the fact in recorded form.

If you have questions or concerns regarding any of these procedures, please feel free to reach out to Pastor Sara Jane at pastor@newdublin.org.

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?

Attire ranges from casual to typical "Sunday morning best." Please come dressed in whatever style best enables you to worship.

Where can I park?

There is plenty of parking in the lot beside the church.

What will my kids do?

Your children are welcome to remain with you throughout the service, if you like. We also offer a nursery for very young children, as well as a Montessori-style "Worship and Wonder" service for school-aged children 6th grade and younger.

May I take communion at New Dublin?

We invite all who trust in Jesus to join us at his table.

How will I know what to do in the service?

When you come in the door there will be greeters there to meet and welcome you with a bulletin. The bulletin will guide you through the service. An asterisk beside a portion means that you are invited to stand, if you are able, and bolded text indicates that the congregation will read aloud in unison. Feel free to look at the sample bulletin attached to this page to see what a typical service is like!

How do I find the church?

The Church address is 5331 New Dublin Church Rd, Dublin, VA 24084. This road can also show up as State Rd 797. We have provided a interactive map on the Contact page of this website to help you pinpoint where we are. When you come off the highway, you will go past a dozen or so homes and down a hill. Follow the road that leads along the edge of the field. When it forks keep to the right. You'll find us at the end of the road!

Where is the church entrance?

If you are attending the 10am Sunday School, please enter through the office door - it is the door facing back down the road you came up and has a disability ramp leading up to it. For the 11am service, both doors will be unlocked with the main door manned by greeters waiting to help you. The main door to the sanctuary is on the east-facing side of the building facing the playground.

Do I need to bring my own Bible?

We have bibles available in the pews, but you are more than welcome to bring your own, or simply to listen as the scripture is read aloud.

Is the church handicap accessible?

Yes. There are designated handicap parking spaces and we have a ramp on the west side of the church for easy access into the building, as well as an elevator for accessing the lower levels of the church.

I have more questions

Feel free to get our contact information from the contact page, we'd be happy to answer anything else you need to know!

Do you livestream services?

Yes, we livestream to our youtube channel and usually start just before 11 am.
